[Ultramarine blue] Ultramarine blue refers to a bright blue pigment

Ultramarine blue refers to a bright blue pigment. The main hue is a bright blue that is neither green nor red (sometimes called ultramarine blue), but in reality the undertone is always more or less purplish and red. The approximate color code is #4000FF(H:255° S:100% B:100%). It is a kiln product (FURNACE PRIDUCT), suitable for all easel painting techniques as a permanent color material.
    Ultramarine Blue

Ultramarine (blue) was originally made from the quasi-precious stone lapis lazuli. According to Western records, it began in the 12th century, while the East was made as early as the 6th century. The name comes from Italian, meaning "blue from the sea", because lapis lazuli came from Afghanistan and other eastern countries. After a series of complicated and arduous flotation procedures, celestite can be separated from the associated gray gangue. True ultramarine is the most expensive of all painting materials, more than twice as expensive as gold of the same weight.
